Once our campsite was set up Friday, Rosie and I enjoyed ourselves sitting outside, chatting and people watching. Rosie's chair was not sitting on level ground and she tipped backwards bumping her head. Lesson 1 - Set your chair on level ground.
After a very long, hard day Friday, you would have thought I would have fallen asleep easily, but it took a while. Many of the trucks have diesel engines and are quite noisy. During that first night it got pretty chilly. I covered Rosie with the only extra blanket and I wrapped up in my blanket, a tablecloth and 2 beach towels. Saturday morning was glorious. The birds were all happily singing and the woodpeckers could be heard knocking on the trees. We headed across the street to the bathrooms and then back for breakfast. Then we saw it. During the night we were robbed. Apparently racoons raided the screenhouse. They stole the graham crackers and our pepperoni rolls.
Lesson 2 - All food must be safely secured.
Saturday was a pretty busy day for us. We played miniature golf - Rosie's first time. I worked with her trying to teach her to hold her club, (where is Uncle Scott when we need him?). By hole 10 she was doing as well as I was. When we were leaving the miniature golf, we saw people touring the park on horseback. At 2pm we tie dyed bandanas. At 4 pm, Rosie went to an ice cream social and helped hand crank ice cream. At 8 pm we listened to a bluegrass band called "Fire On The Line". When we headed back to the tent for the evening, Rosie went right to bed, "G'night Nana, I love you..." I fell asleep soon after.
