Part 1
Wow - I have so much to share! I will start with the trip to Charlotte. Regina and I signed up for the Creating Keepsakes Convention months ago. Our first choice was Nashville, but it was flooded out, so we decided on Charlotte.
We decided to stop in Mount Airy, North Carolina to check out the Andy Griffith Museum. On our little detour to Mt. Airy, Regina said,"I am surprised we have not seen any boiled peanut stands." I replied that I did not think we were far enough south. Well what do you think we saw right around the next curve? A true southern boiled peanut stand. Actually it was called "Mountain Mans", and it was a ramshackle, run down produce stand with some dusty souveniers, a pot bellied puppy on the porch and 2 crockpots with jumbo boiled peanuts inside. OK, so it did not look like the most sanitary place in the world, but old time boiled peanut stands never do. My parents and I used to stop at some pretty grungy looking places in the 60s, before the interstate went in, and get some of the tastiest country ham and biscuits you ever sunk your teeth into. Anyway, the boiled peanuts were yummy. I am still alive to tell the story, so it must have been ok. I will pause here, to post an amusing picture I took at Mountain Mans.

Cool photo and fun story Donna :)
Just wondering if Regina waited 2 hours before eating any? That is our trick, as it usually takes 2hrs if you are going to get food poisoning ..... don't worry, only joking!!!
I have never heard of boiled peanuts before, only roasted over here.
