No Rosie today - Amy was not feeling well, so she did not go to school today, so no Rosie or Camp Nana today. Camp Nana will be on a 48 hour delay this week.
Sunday, we had a big family and friends dinner. Sean is home for a while, Amy and Rosie, Dee and Jayden, Woody and I, my friend Regina and her boyfriend - Kevin and my friend Cheryl- all came over for Sunday dinner. We had baked chicken, brocolli casserole, hot rolls, mashed potatoes, 7 layer salad (plus an extra layer, so it was really 8), corn on the cob, watermelon, potato salad and a sinfully delicious cake Regina brought. Cheryl washed the dishes - yay her!! I apreciated that especially since I had a terrible backache, (Paco has been stealing clothes from the clothes hamper, I put it up on the bed to keep him from raiding it, and sprained my lumbar spine - OUCH!)
Maxine is in Chicago at the Craft and Hobby Association Show. I am holding down the fort at the Scrapbook Page this week. I have been cleaning and doing some reorganizing. I hope Maxine is thrilled when she gets back or I may be visiting the shop solely as a customer after Saturday.
Regina took me out to dinner this evening. Then we did a little shopping and went to Sharkeys and sang some Karaoke. We had fun, I can't say the other patrons enjoyed my singing as much as I enjoyed singing...
Jayden and Dee stayed with us Wednesday thru Monday. Jayden is growing so fast. He is almost 18 pounds. Poor little guy got his 4 month immunizations Monday. He has been a less than happy little camper since yesterday morning. He laughs and reaches and grabs things now. We think he is trying to give kisses - open mouth ones on your cheek. He likes to "stand". He loves books and being read to. Dee is a good little mama and he is the apple of her eye.
Amy has not been feeling well. Liberty is kicking and moving well though. Liberty still has fluid backed up in her kidneys. They are monitoring her with weekly ultrasounds. She may have to be delivered well before her due date. Please keep Amy and Liberty Grace in your thoughts and prayers.
Sean is home until the end of August. He and Rosie played outside with the hose and sprinkler on Sunday. They will be heading to Camden Park sometime in the near future. Rosie got a free ticket from the library summer reading program. She read 40 books during the program and I enjoyed taking her and listening to her improving reading skills.
Woody and I went to Harris Riverfront Park to Picnic with the Pops (Huntington Symphony Orchestra) on Saturday night. The theme this year is: E Komo Mai - which means Welcome. The Symphony performed special Hawaiian tropical themed pieces including selections from South Pacific. The WSAZ Meteorologist, Marina Jurica, performed. She has a lovely singing voice. She sang the Star Spangled Banner and it brought me to tears. Saturday was so hot, but once the sun settled down for the evening, a cool breeze drifted up from the Ohio River and it was quite pleasant.
Well, that is all for now. I hope this makes sense since it is all out of order.
